All the elements were in place today for a thumping workup!

Dophins, gannets and miles of baitfish. Unfortunately they must have missed the memo and were still in summer holiday mode. Saying that we had an awesome day, with hardly a breath of wind and caught a variety fish, even a monster trevally, on a variety of Catch Fishing jigs.

Our Furuno New Zealand electronics got used all day, checking out what was under the plethora of bait schools in the Hauraki Gulf, and finally made a plan to fish around Channel Island. We scored a couple of nice snappers and kingfish amongst about a million kawahai that were surface feeding.

Then it was time get the pair of purring Honda’s to take us home.
An awesome day from Wave Dancer Captain Terry Vernon.
